COVID-19: The most vulnerable need your urgent help

Support the most vulnerable and neglected communities

COVID-19 has hit many places with fragile health systems hard, making an already dangerous situation even worse, especially for the most vulnerable communities. MSF launched its first COVID-19 response project in Hong Kong in late January 2020vand has expanded to more than 70 countries and regions such as Bangladesh, India and Yemen, focusing on those at greatest risk and on neglected groups. We provide direct medical care to patients, implement infection prevention and control, and establish temporary medical facilities to reduce the burden on overwhelmed local resources. The other major challenge is to maintain the operation of routine medical projects for all the other illnesses and conditions and to take care of the mental health needs of people under the shadow of this pandemic.

To raise the funds suddenly needed to respond to the outbreak, we have established “COVID-19 Crisis Fund'', which is used to support all this work and to limit the impact on existing projects globally. Right now, the situation is still very uncertain. Despite the daunting challenges, we are deploying medical personnel and supplies, and applying our nearly 50 years of experience in dealing with infectious disease outbreaks to meet the enormous medical needs.
