On Track to Save 2025, a major running competition organized by Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders Hong Kong (MSF-Hong Kong), successfully concluded at noon today. Held at the Hong Kong Science Park, the event saw over 3,000 runners supporting humanitarian work with their speed and endurance. Participants ranged in age from 4 to nearly 80, embodying a spirit of charity that spans seven decades.
The competition comprised three categories: 10KM and 3KM Races, as well as the "Crossing Frontlines Go!" Orienteering Experience Race. Participants for the 10KM Race started at the Science Park, followed the Pak Shek Kok Seaside Promenade to the Tai Wong Yeh Temple in Tai Po, then returned to the finish line. Runners from various backgrounds were attracted to the competition, including the survivor of the "Hong Kong Four Trail Ultra Challenge 2025" Kimmy Leung Hong-kiu, actress Kong Ka-man, and 8 MSF field workers, namely: nurse Mr. Chiu Cheuk-pong, Dr. Jennifer Tong Wing-sze, civil engineer Mr. Luke Chu King-hei , Dr. Ryan Ko Chi-cheong, Dr. Shannon Melissa Chan, nurse and midwife Ms. Tobey Lee Tsz-yan, electrical engineer Mr. Vincent Lee Yiu-fai, and Dr. Wilson Li.
Before the start, Mr. Chiu Cheuk-pong, President of MSF-Hong Kong, thanked all the runners, stating that their support gives field workers more resources and confidence to provide emergency medical assistance worldwide.
He said: "Every step the runners take brings us closer to the patients, enabling the injured and the sick to receive healthcare faster. When field workers arrive at the front line, they are driven by the spirit of doing their best to save lives. Today, all the runners here are cherished companions of MSF as we move forward together!”
Despite the relatively high humidity, runners achieved impressive results. Kimmy Leung Hong-kiu, participating in "On Track to Save" for the first time, said after completing the 10KM Race: "The atmosphere was vibrant and quite different from trail running. I have always believed that the work of MSF is meaningful. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to charity this time and look forward to supporting humanitarian work in various ways in the future."

Providing humanitarian aid is always challenging. Since 2002, MSF-Hong Kong has held the "On Track to Save" orienteering competition, allowing participants to experience the challenges faced by the field workers, who
journey through some of the world's most testing environments to provide medical aid to patients in dire situations.
Now in its 23rd year, the event changed its format to a running competition last year. This year's theme, "Step Up for Lifesaving," saw participants doing sports for good, helping MSF get closer to those living in distress and providing them the urgently needed medical assistance.
MSF-Hong Kong also collaborated with local cartoon characters "PJai and Friends" and "Din-Dong" to organize the "Crossing Frontlines Go!" Orienteering Experience Race, 70% of whom were family teams.Participants completed 10 challenging tasks at the Science Park within a limited time, gaining a deeper understanding of the MSF’s global humanitarian work.
MSF-Hong Kong extends heartfelt appreciation to the organizations supporting On Track to Save 2025. Among these esteemed sponsors, Collyer Logistics is the campaign partner for the competition. Mr. Andy Russell, Director of Collyer Logistics, emphasized the significance of MSF’s humanitarian work on the frontline. He stated, “Collyer Logistics has proudly supported MSF's On Track to Save for over 10 years and is delighted to be a sponsor again this year. We hope that runners can deepen their understanding of MSF’s humanitarian work and continue to support the organization’s efforts in helping those in need around the world!”
Also, HOKA is the action partner of the competition. Among the participating companies, Creative Property Services Consultants (CPSC) won the Highest Fundraising Award.
