Head of Fundraising


Job Purpose
•    Support the Deputy Executive Director to develop and implement MSF HK Fundraising Strategic Plan; and co-manage the income and expenses of MSF HK Fundraising team to support the MSF operational needs.
•    Oversee the operations of MSF HK Fundraising team
o    Mass Marketing Team (Acquisition and Cultivation), 
o    Marketing Development Team (Mass Corporate, Mid Value Donors and Campaigns)
o    Major Donor Team (individual, Corporate, Foundation and legacy) 
•    Consolidate financial projection, planning and actual update; conduct campaigns and variance analysis to constantly review the performance of MSF HK Fundraising team. 

Scope of Responsibility
•    Provide input to the Deputy Executive Director on Fundraising strategy development and financial planning 
•    Deliver the quantitative and qualitative fundraising objectives, mainly annual donation income target and projected expenses; and strategy deployment as agreed and approved by MSF HK MT and Board
•    Ensures full compliance to MSF HK Fundraising Policy, MSF Movement Fundraising Principles and HK SAR related legal regulations.
•    Responsible for MSF HK Fundraising team organizational development and personnel development
•    Represent MSF HK Fundraising team and/or act as a back up for Deputy Executive Director whenever there is a need. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1)    Develop and implement effective Fundraising Strategy for MSF HK, including management of budget and expenses to deliver annual KPIs as per approved Annual Plan
•    Drive annual planning exercise across MSF HK FR team, consolidate data and provide commentary for the Deputy Executive Director to review.

•    Be responsible for the usage of organization’s resources, by means of budget control and by developing and recommending new strategies or proposal to meet future needs.
•    Supervise channels managers to develop, manage and control relationship with external suppliers and agencies to deliver effective and quality services
•    Prepare financial and analysis report in a timely manner for financial reporting purpose and performance evaluation

2)    General Management
•    Participate in MSF internal and external meetings upon request or when necessary.
•    Talent Management for MSF HK Fundraising team, including recruitment, training, coaching and career development; ensure each team members are being equipped with essential skillset and knowledge.
•    Ensure all external communications relating to Fundraising are developed to appropriately reflect the reality of the MSF operation and in compliance to the communication ethics of MSF
•    Collaborate with 
•    Donor Service Manager to define, develop, and manage fundraising and donation management processes in compliance with the guidelines and policies of MSF, audit requirement of MSF HK, as well as the legal requirements of Hong Kong
•    Digital Manager to develop and implement the effective digital fundraising strategy for the best return on investment
•    Communications and Engagement Director to develop effective fundraising message to be in line with Communications message


The Ideal Candidate
•    University graduate or higher
•    Minimum 10 years working experience in marketing with a proven track record in the planning & management against budget and deadlines
•    8 years+ experience of staff management and team supervision 
•    Considerable knowledge and understanding of Hong Kong charity fundraising market; Understanding of APAC market will be a bonus
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities
•    Knowledge and experience in digital Marketing
•    Good interpersonal skills with outstanding leadership quality, strong negotiating skills with an ability to build relationships with external suppliers
•    Ability to travel internationally including to MSF field projects
•    Excellent verbal and writing skills in Chinese and English 
•    Working experience in MNCs is preferable
