Senior Digital Officer (Communications)

Job Purpose

The Senior Digital Officer is responsible for managing and creating compelling content for the social media platforms of MSF HK. The primary job purpose revolves around strategically utilizing digital platforms to enhance brand visibility, raise public awareness, and engage with the target audience. This entails developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies, ensuring consistent brand messaging, and optimizing content for various platforms. The Senior Digital Officer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to monitor key performance indicators, social media trends, and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Content Creation and Management

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media content strategies aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Create engaging and high-quality content for social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all social media platforms.
  • Coordinate with graphic designers, videographers, and copywriters to create visually appealing and engaging content.

Social Media Platforms Management

  • Manage and administer MSF HK’s social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and leverage them to enhance the organization's digital presence.

Social Media Advertising and Campaigns

  • Plan, execute, and optimize social media advertising campaigns to reach target audiences and achieve specific objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Fundraising and Partnership Department, to align social media campaigns with broader marketing initiatives.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Track, measure, and analyze social media metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate the success of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools, making data-driven decisions to optimize future content creation.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on regular reports and data analysis to optimize social media strategies and tactics.

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of extensive work experience in creating digital content and managing social media platforms.
  • Excellent written skills in both Chinese and English, with a proven track record in copywriting and translation.
  • Proficient in graphic design and video production, with hands-on experience using multimedia production tools such as Photoshop, Premiere, AI, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Familiarity with website management, SEO, and SEM principles and practices is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Open to working outside of regular business hours to address crises and emergencies.
