Clarification: MSF is not involved in any demonstration related to Olympic torch relay

In view of some inquiries by members of the public and a false media report claiming Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) will protest against the Olympic torch relay, MSF made the following clarification announcement on 8 April 2008:

MSF has not organised or participated in any demonstration against or in favour of the Olympic torch relay, and does not have any plan to do so.

MSF is an independent international medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care.

MSF provides assistance to people in need irrespective of their race, religion, creed or political convictions. We observe strict neutrality and impartiality as well as maintain complete independence from all political, economic, or religious powers
