A dream

I dreamt of earthquake last night. In the dream, I assisted students to retreat from the school. However, my colleague asked me this morning, “did you feel the earthquake?” It’s true!!! My sense is too bad! Due to the earthquake last night, many patients in the hospital were afraid of staying indoor and getting injury. They preferred staying in open space just outside the hospital this morning. Actually many people are still psychologically traumatized by the earthquake that struck more than a month ago. People are still very much afraid of more aftershocks or earthquakes. Though their houses are intact after the earthquake, they are still not willing to go back and prefer staying in tents. Also, even just a mild earthquake or aftershock can trigger their sense of the horrible moment that they experienced before. So they would run and run but just don’t know where to run to. I also notice that there is a kind of herd behaviour, due to the psychological impact of the disaster. For example, in one of wards, the ward nurse did not escape during the earthquake/aftershock, hence the patients stayed inside without escape. However, for the other wards, the nurses ran immediately so nearly all patients followed, no matter they are already amputated, with fractured legs or simply just can't move. By the way, while I was doing a skin graft surgery today in the operating theatre, there was another earthquake. It was not too severe, but all the local staff of operating theatre ran out immediately and I could not find a nurse to help me. But the operation was finished finally with the help of the expatriate anaethetists.
