Little angels in trouble

The first angel

We have 3 very cute little angels in our wards now. The first one is a 8 year boy knocked down by car with a femoral fracture. He’s been on traction with a wooden stick inside a cast from another centre. When we opened the cast, the skin on the heel was necrotic for the stick is pressing on it. We now put him on skin traction & his skin is recovering.

The second angel

The second boy just fell on ground and fracture his elbow, he managed to reduce his fracture immediately without a need for open fixation. He’s recovering well.

The third angel

The third girl is a victim of the earthquake 4 months ago, she has a fracture in her femur and in between she was put on an external fixator, but the bone is not healing and to the worst she developed chronic infection in her bone, so despite 4 months passed, she’s still suffering from the earthquake and I really don’t like how long she need to make her fully recovered. So from this 3 different accidents, may be you can see the difference between the availability of good medical care and not. The second boy is lucky and has a quick intervention and a quick recovery as we afford to give him the best treatment; The first boy is a bit unlucky and got complication out of a bad initial management but some how he can be referred to us soon and the complication solved. The third girl is the least lucky one and we don’t know how long she will suffer despite our intervention because chronic bone infection can be very nasty to treat.
