MSF has suspended all medical activities as security deterioration in Wad Madani

On 19 Dec, armed men attacked MSF compound, looting 2 cars and other items from its premises. Due to security deterioration of recent weeks, MSF has suspended all medical activities in Wad Madani and evacuated its staff to safer areas in Sudan and neighboring countries.

Following the escalation of violence and RSF take over, about 300.000 people have fled the city according to UN. Many of those who sought safety in Wad Madani are now undergoing an arduous second displacement as a result of the continuing violence.

MSF is concerned for the people in Wad Madani who have very limited access to healthcare and essential medicines. MSF calls on the RSF to protect civilians in the city and to ensure safe access to health care services by respecting the neutrality of medical facilities.

MSF is still running activities in several locations in Sudan including Khartoum, Omdurman, White and Blue Nile, Al Gedaref and West, North, Central and south Darfur.
