Vaccinating children in the Mon State - Myanmar

Tens of thousands of ethnic Mon have been displaced in the decades long conflict between the Burmese junta and a Mon separatist rebellion in Southern Burma.

Many of them live now in resettlement sites and villages for displaced in ceasefire areas administered by the Mon authority. MSF has been working in close relationship with Mon National Health Committee to treat malaria, help prevent epidemics and improve basic healthcare in the ceasefire zone.

In January and February 839 children were vaccinated against polio of which 605 were also vaccinated against mumps, measles and rubella.
