Médecins Sans Frontières Hong Kong Gift Acceptance Policy Summary

Médecins Sans Frontières, an international and independent medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.  Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality as set out in the MSF Charter and Principles.

As a private international association with over 90% of donations originating from the public, Médecins Sans Frontières Hong Kong strongly believes that we must not accept funds from states, corporations or industries whose activities are in conflict with our humanitarian goals and values or limit our ability to provide medical humanitarian assistance in any way.  We are committed to maintaining high ethical standards in the independent funding that has enabled MSF to reach more people in need, to respond faster to emergencies, to broaden the range of medical services we provide and to improve the quality of our medical care.

To honour our commitment, a relevant due diligence process is in place to ensure that donations are from lawful and tax compliant origin and we endeavour to comply with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism regulations of Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
