Communications Officer
Job Purpose
The Communications Officer is responsible for the implementation of communication and media strategies to ensure high-quality media coverage and visibility, with the aim of increasing MSF's presence in both local and international media in Hong Kong.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain good media relationships and maximize positive media coverage for MSF
- Conduct media pitching, arrange media interviews and press conferences
- Prepare PR write-ups such as press releases and other promotional materials
- Handle media inquiries and support in crisis management
- Support the planning and implementation of promotional activities
- Support in writing, editing, and disseminating content for a wide range of communication channels
The Ideal Candidate
- University degree in Journalism, Communications or related fields
- Minimum of two years of journalistic and/or public relations experience
- Basic knowledge, experience, and network within the local media in Hong Kong
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work outside normal office hours and be on call to respond to emergencies
- Strong commitment to the aims and values of Médecins Sans Frontières
